- Dussehri mango is a famous variety that originated in Malihabad, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh).
- It is one of the oldest mango varieties in India, dating back to the 18th century.
- Malihabad is known as the “Mango Capital of India”, producing some of the finest Dussehri mangoes.
Characteristics
- Shape:Medium-sized, elongated, oval
- Skin:Thin, smooth, and bright yellow when ripe
- Pulp:Fiberless, soft, and juicy
- Taste:Exceptionally sweet with a strong aroma
- Seed:Small, leaving more edible pulp
Harvesting Season
- Available from June to early August.
- The peak season is July, when the mangoes are fully ripened.
