Origin & History

  • Dussehri mango is a famous variety that originated in Malihabad, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh).
  • It is one of the oldest mango varieties in India, dating back to the 18th century.
  • Malihabad is known as the “Mango Capital of India”, producing some of the finest Dussehri mangoes.

Characteristics

  • Shape:Medium-sized, elongated, oval
  • Skin:Thin, smooth, and bright yellow when ripe
  • Pulp:Fiberless, soft, and juicy
  • Taste:Exceptionally sweet with a strong aroma
  • Seed:Small, leaving more edible pulp

Harvesting Season

  • Available from June to early August.
  • The peak season is July, when the mangoes are fully ripened.
